Dr. Kumar Sharma Acharya a licensed Senior Advocate is an active Senior Partner of A.H.N. Legal. He has been practicing law since 1984 A.D. and has been practicing as a Senior Advocate to date. Dr. Acharya is a lifetime member of the Nepal Council of Arbitration and is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, he has also served as the Vice President of Nepal Bar Association, Executive Member of Nepal Mediation Council, and Executive Committee Member of Nepal Bar Council. Dr. Acharya has been working in the field of alternative dispute resolution since 2003 A.D. and has contributed to the legal system of Nepal by playing the role of an expert in the field of alternative dispute resolution and the development of local and municipal level laws.
Dr. Acharya completed his Master’s Degree in Business and International Trade Law, making him well acquainted with the business and commercial laws of Nepal. Also, with a doctoral degree, he has had the opportunity to understand the procedural and theoretical subject matters of law and trends of the Supreme Court regarding writ procedures in depth. Dr. Acharya has also formerly acted as the vice-president of the Nepal Bar Association.
Furthermore, he has worked as a consultant to USAID, The Asia Foundation, UNDP, the Government of Nepal, National Business Initiative, etc. He has acted as an arbitrator in various commercial disputes and has also represented his clients in arbitration as well as courts. In addition, Dr. Acharya has been the lead trainer in various pieces of training organized by the Government of Nepal where he has trained judges and police, related to diverse subject matters. He has been awarded for writing articles in a law journal (Kanoon) and has published various articles in national and local newspapers.
Based on his expertise in numerous matters, Dr. Acharya was appointed by the Government of Nepal as the Convener of the Law Drafting and Recommendation Commission of Lumbini Province whereby the Government of Nepal authorized him to supervise the drafts for formulating provincial laws. Also, the Supreme Court of Nepal has appointed Dr. Acharya as the ambassador for the promotion of Mediation in Nepal.
